“Quilted with Love, Dedicated to Service: A Quilt Raffle for Our Heroes”

Service dog trainers Andrea Hansen and Moriah Payne pose with service dogs Butters and Gator.

Think one person can’t make a difference? The Massac Quilting Guild from Metropolis, Illinois, proves otherwise. This small group of 8–10 women meets regularly to create a quilt, raffled each year to benefit This Able Veteran.

Their dedication has raised over $10,000 to support our Trauma Resilience Program. This year, for the first time, we are hosting an online raffle—giving you the chance to win a stunning handmade quilt.

The quilt will be on display during our Transfer of the Leash Pairing Ceremony on April 18 at Walker’s Bluff Casino (5–7 PM), where raffle tickets can be purchased before the drawing on April 23, 2025. The winner will be contacted, and the quilt shipped to their preferred address.
